Interesting Facts from 1917 - 1918

Tennessee, Texas, and Alberta Canada joined the ranks of Supreme Shrine
Texas shrines would give up their charters in 1958 due to adverse legislation
Ten (10) new shrines were instituted
Many Shrine meetings were cancelled due to the edict "no public gatherings" due to Spanish Influenza.
The jewel for the PSWHP was adopted.
Supreme Shrine became active in the war effort, doing various volunteer duties.

"Beyond our Northern border lies a country rich and fair,
And many Shrines are meeting over there,
We have a cordial greeting for our Canadian friends;
And hope we'll stick together until this old world ends."
